Get to Know Me!
I’ve been art-centric sense I was in preschool.
Even when all I used was a crayon, I felt an extra tug from art and hands-on projects, and waiting anxiously for craft time. I took as many electives as I could in middle and high school, and always had a few sketchbooks going. It’s a huge part of who I am.
I’m a Hokie!
I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2020 with a degree in Interior Design. I loved my sorority, ring dance traditions, “Studio”, and soaking up every opportunity Tech had to offer. I even got to study abroad in Italy, which is what sparked interest in painting buildings and homes; we did a lot of that between tours! I still use my travel palette from that trip. I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing without my years in Blacksburg.
I love a small town.
The places I’ve felt most at home have been small, personal towns; Lexington, Blacksburg, and the towns on Martha’s Vineyard. Everything is walkable, you know your neighbors, and you have to plan a little extra time into your day for bumping into families faces. I’m so happy to be back in my little home town surrounded by the people and places I love!
I’m EXTREMELY sentimental.
I’m definitely in the right career, huh? Creating art that celebrates milestones, seasons and memories is perfect.
God frequently surprises me.
I can give you quite a few examples of times God has thrown me for a loop only to put me where I’m supposed to be, and it’s been far from what I’d imagines for myself. I’m where I am because of perfect timing, signs, and some REALLY obvious guidance… and things are so good.
